History
Aja, Principled Living Good Company is a non-profit organization that started in 2015 as a structure to support projects of health and wellness, cultural research, and education. Our logo is a West African symbol of balance and harmony.
Aja Principled Living Good Company is an organization, which was founded in September of 2015 as a way to foster community in areas of social empowerment for promoting a wellness lifestyle, and cultural education, and as a way to support educational professionals looking to have an impact on their communities in these areas. Our initiatives began with a vegan cooking workshop designed to promote healthy eating and show ways to make simple dishes with education on the value of menu ingredients on health.
As interest in programs expanded, we have supported and offered workshops to educators in order to integrate wellness and culturally relevant education into curriculum development and began providing educational units to educators looking to integrate these topics into their instruction.
With the expansion of curricular-focused programs and initiatives, we were able to engage our community in offering one on one tutoring, virtual learning pods, and a remote private school kindergarten learning experience during the Covid-19 pandemic school closures.
Some of the learning pod parents approached a need to engage the community’s small businesses with technology skills that could assist them in expanding the services they offer and in 2022, we were able to assist with technology-based education, employing members of the community and providing them with skills for an expansion of work options in tech.
Mission Statement
The Mission of Aja Principled Living Good Company is to provide community members with resources related to learning and enriching culture, interpersonal health, wellness and service in support of creating a better life for each other and for the global community through the use of multifaceted spiritual practices, holistic living and community social activities.
Enrollment
Aja Principled Living Good Company is looking to enroll youth in a summer and after-school wellness program beginning July 2023. This program has the following focus.
Healthy eating to prevent disease
K-12 tutoring
Dance
Arts in core subjects
Peer mentoring
School-supplemented learning pods
Aja began as a collaboration of like-minded individuals wanting to enhance understanding of developing self-awareness in how we live and interact with others on the planet.
